Het unieke karakter van de flora van de Benedenwindse Eilanden wordt vaak door bewoners noch bezoekers voldoende gewaardeerd. Om de kennis van en de liefde voor de natuur op onze eilanden te vergroten in het bijzonder bij de jeugd, besloot de Stichting Dierenbescherming Curacao een plantengids samen te stellen. Deze gids bevat foto’s en beschrijvingen van 63 van de meest voorkomende bomen en planten op de drie eilanden en is daarmee een nuttig naslagwerk voor iedereen die belangstelling heeft voor onze flora.
The unique character of the flora of the Dutch Leeward Islands is often overlooked by inhabitants as well as visitors to the islands. To increase the knowledge of and the love for nature, especially among the youth, the Animal Protection Society Curacao has decided to compile this plant guide. It contains pictures and descriptions of 63 of the most common trees and plants of the three islands and thus makes a useful book of reference for everyone with an interest in plants.
